The Do’s and Don’t of choosing the right contractor.
Jun 02, 2011When large hailstorms occur in your neighborhood it is usually soon to be flooded with roofing contractors from all over the U.S. They all want to inspect your roof right now and for you to sign on the dotted line. Be smart! Your roof is your number one defense for protecting your home from the elements, you don’t want just anyone replacing it.
Here are some of the Do’s and Don’ts of choosing the right contractor.
DON’T be pressured into signing anything up front. A reputable company will give you a free estimate and give you time to decide who is best for the job.
DON’T rush! It is always smart to get more than one estimate. Shop around and see which contractor or company best suits you.
DO your homework. BEWARE of storm chasers who only come in for the work of the storm and leave in six months.
DO choose a contractor that has experience working with insurance companies. When it comes to roof work that is an insurance claim use a company that knows what to do and can help you with the insurance process.
